The TBS Firesteel is, quite simply, a brilliant product. The Fatboy Firesteel only differs from the original as the rod is now 12.5mm in diameter up from 9.5mm. The striker gives off a massive shower of white hot sparks thanks to the addition of just little more of the combustible metals. You can use the back of your knife to strike this ferro rod but you really can't get better than a dedicated striker and the TBS Fatboy Striker just works. You can either use the side or the curved tip to get a brilliant result and it has the added bonus of having a measuring scale of up to 50mm and a 1:100000 scale (ideal as a roamer for maps), and a Bottle opener that doubles as a hex nut spanner.
