The MIRA Safety CM-8M® Full Face Respirator is the next-generation CBRN mask engineered to exceed military-grade protection standards while offering enhanced comfort, visibility, and mission flexibility for civilian, law enforcement, and military users alike. Built to protect against a full spectrum of CBRN threats, including chemical warfare agents (CWA), toxic industrial chemicals (TICS), radioactive dust, and biological hazards, the CM-8M is a professional-grade solution for those who refuse to compromise safety. Weighing in at just 540g, the CM-8M is light enough to wear all day but durable and rugged enough for serious field use.

At the heart of the CM-8M® is a newly contoured panoramic visor that offers an industry-leading 92.5% field of view, allowing users to maintain full situational awareness while preserving compatibility with night vision goggles, thermal optics, and scopes. The optical-grade polycarbonate visor is impact-rated to EN 168 standards, making this mask as suitable for riot control as it is for combat environments.

Crafted from durable bromobutyl rubber, the CM-8M® conforms to EN 136:1998, Class III CBRN standards and is tested for 30-hour resistance to mustard gas penetration. Its six-point mesh head harness ensures a secure, stable fit, even during strenuous activity or prolonged wear. The CM-8M® will come in one universal size, the fit being similar to the medium CM-7M® and the CM-6M®, which also come in one universal size. For people with smaller-than-average or above-average head shapes, this mask is not recommended as it may not fit snugly. Always conduct a negative pressure test to ensure you are getting a tight seal, and perform this test each time when donning the gas mask. The CM-8M has been tested with a wide variety of high-cut helmets and has seamlessly integrated with them.

The CM-8M® is part of the MIRA Safety family of gas masks, which means it uses the same filter cartridges, components and optional upgrades as your existing MIRA Safety gas masks. It’s compatible with the MIRA Safety Microphone System and Replacement Parts Kit, and it features the same basic construction as all other existing MIRA Safety masks, allowing for rapid transition and upgrade to the CM-8M® from existing platforms. The CM-8M® features a central speech diaphragm that ensures at least 95% intelligibility of speech; however, the gas mask microphone is strongly recommended as an upgrade for all MIRA Safety gas masks. MIRA Safety replacement parts are compatible with the CM-8M gas mask, and more new accessories will be available for the platform soon.

The CM-8M features a 6-point mesh head harness that ensures a rock-solid fit for users of all sizes. The Key improvement that seperates the CM-8M from its family of other Mira masks is its almost full field of view from the new, uniquely contoured polycarbonate visor, which works perfectly with optics, scopes and night vision gear. The full-face respirator’s inner mask is made from a special hypoallergenic compound that prevents fogging and reduces carbon dioxide (CO2) content in the gas mask’s inner space, improving comfort for long hours of potential usage.

Like the full range of MIRA Safety Masks, the CM-8M is no different and is designed for use with  the 40mm threadedNATO standard filter cartridges. The selection of a suitable filter depends on the type and concentration of the anticipated toxic agent. The CM-8M® tactical gas mask may be used in class 1 explosive environments only. The CM-8M gas mask meets all of the requirements for class 3 of the EN 136 standard. It’s a great choice for riot gear or as a riot control gas mask.
