Hultafors Dvardala Hunting and Forest Axe
The Hultafors Dvardala Hunting and Forest Axe is the tool of choice for forestry, camp and game work. With a combination of several different axe types it’s ideal for a day in the forest when a wide variety of tasks need to be done. It has the same type of head as the Åby axe but has a shorter linseed oil American hickory handle at 440 mm long, making it easy to carry on your belt or in a pack. A shorter handle also makes tasks that require you to have close to your body more precise. The axe is suitable for accurate and controlled work such as carving, building shelters and other camp activities.
The handle features a hand notch and a semi straight edge with a Scandinavian ground edge providing accuracy around detailed work. The notch allows for a firm grip around the head of the axe for control whilst the flat edge will enable stable cuts along wood. The heads thicker cheeks improve its splitting capabilities and the slight curve of the blade allows for versatility in light forestry tasks.
Crafted for hunters, the Dvardala is ideal for processing game and not just outdoor tasks. The 0.7kg head is hand forged at Hults Bruk in Sweden and made from CO2 neutral Swedish steel. The axe head comes out polished and razor sharp out of the box. The American hickory curved handle has a pronounced end knob for a secure grip. The vegetable tanned leather is sourced from Sweden cowhides and will age beautifully with use.
The axe is named after Dvardala, which is an old name for the forest area just north of Hults Bruk. This is where the Kolmården Forest begins and from Borgar mountain in Dvardala you have a fantastic view of the area, which is known for good hunting of both wild game and wild boar. The quality of the Hultafors axe head has a lifetime warranty assuring the quality and craftsmanship of the axe.
