nanoSTRIKER - Extra Large Ferro Rod Fire Starter
The Exotac nanoSTRIKER XL® is a compact, self-contained ferrocerium fire starter designed for bushcraft, camping, hiking, emergency preparedness and everyday carry.
Exotac developed the nanoSTRIKER XL® to combine a ferro rod, striker and protective body into one small package without sacrificing durability or performance. When not in use, the components screw back together into a compact unit measuring just 93mm long and 11mm in diameter, making it easy to carry on a keyring, in a pocket or inside an emergency fire kit.
The replaceable ferrocerium rod measures 6.35mm in diameter, making it approximately 33% larger than the original nanoSTRIKER rod. It is waterproof and rated for more than 3,000 strikes, producing sparks at approximately 3,000°C to help ignite suitable tinder and fire-starting materials.
The integrated striker combines stainless steel with an ultra-sharp tungsten carbide striking edge, giving it excellent durability and reliable spark production over repeated use.
The body is CNC machined in-house in the USA from high-grade 6061 aluminium and anodised to provide additional surface protection. Its threaded construction protects the ferro rod and striker during storage while keeping the complete fire-starting system together in a single compact unit.
A 550 FireCord™ lanyard is included. The outer sheath can be stripped back to reveal a red internal strand designed to catch a spark and burn similarly to a candle, providing an additional emergency tinder option when required.
The nanoSTRIKER XL® can be used to ignite suitable tinder as well as gas stoves, alcohol stoves, fuel tablets and BBQ grills, making it a versatile fire-lighting tool for both everyday outdoor use and emergency situations.
Available in Black, Olive Drab, Orange and Gunmetal, the nanoSTRIKER XL® also includes a split ring for convenient keyring carry.
