76mm (3") G2 Nano Vs 127mm (5") G2 Firebox
The 5" Firebox has a larger deeper burn chamber, more BTU output & can hold more hot coals which means high cooking performance. The Nano maintains all the same amazing versatility and capability but in a much smaller, simpler form factor. Think of it as a minimalist version of the higher horse powered 5" Firebox Stove. You can do all the same things, you'll just need to pay closer attention to fuel management with the Nano.

Titanium VS Stainless Steel
SS is the heavy duty option, basically bomb proof. If you like big over the top fires, that burn long into the night, then SS is the way to go. All alloys of SS lose corrosion resistance through wood fire temps. Maintain corrosion resistance easily with a light coat of oil between uses. Titanium is 40% lighter (so is basically half the weight), corrosion proof and cools down fast. If you're carrying your gear on your back and are focused on cooking, you'll be glad to have a 127mm Ti Stove (panel adjustments may be needed, easily done by hand). The 76mm (3") Nano's less overall heat potential means it doesn't need much, if any, of the above mentioned maintenance (applies to both Ti & SS).

Special Instructions:

1. Burn In Procedure - Take it slow. Watch the video of the titanium Firebox Stove through its paces. By only using cooking fires, no bigger than necessary, you may yield even better results.

2. Don't tamp your fire - While titanium has a much higher melting point than SS it actually becomes just as soft from the heat as SS so placing downward pressure on the Fire Grate may cause it to yield (This is true with the SS FB as well) Regardless, don't tamp your fire in a FB Stove since it breaks up the hot coals and blocks air flow choking out the fire. If you're trying to get the last flames to go out prior to grilling it may make sense to tamp a fire. If that's the case, do it very carefully.
